Julie Redman is a former elementary school teacher. She is presently enjoying being a full-time mother to her three lovely children and volunteering for educational and fund-raising endeavors. Julie is from Indianapolis, Indiana. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Purdue University in 1983. Julie completed her Master of Science in Education degree from Indiana University in 1989, with a focus in Reading and Early Childhood Development. Julie taught kindergarten and first grade at Eastbrook Elementary in MSD of Pike Township for ten years.
Julie is a past President of the Indianapolis Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta. She is a former member of the Children's Commission at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Indianapolis. Julie helped start the PTO for Stonegate Elementary at Boone Meadow, serving as President for two years. She has enjoyed participating as an Oktoberfest committee chairperson, member of the Zionsville Academically Talented Council, and Co-Chairperson for the 2004-2005 Zionsville Community School Charity. Julie finds great fulfillment in volunteering for many fund-raising events for a variety of not-for-profit organizations.
Julie and her husband, Brad, moved to Zionsville in 2000 and have three children.
- James Schillaci, Vice-President
Jim Schillaci is a Senior Vice
President and Financial Advisor in the Global Wealth Management
division of Merrill Lynch. He began in the financial services industry
in 1991. With over 17 years of experience, Jim has assisted many
generations of individuals and institutions reach their financial goals. He has a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Sam Houston State
University. In addition, Jim has completed the Securities Industry
Institute at the Wharton School of Business, University on
Pennsylvania. In 2006, the financial magazine On Wall Street recognized
Jim's hard work and dedication to clients by naming him one of the "Top
40 Advisors Under 40" in the country. In addition to his dedication to the Zionsville Educational Foundation,
he works with the Indiana Sports Corporation as a member of the
President's Advisory Council and on the Geared for Health committee.
Jim and his team of advisors also have served as the local market
commentators for 93 WIBC since 2000.
Jim and his wife Adalyn moved to Zionsville in 2006. They have four children attending Zionsville schools.
- Melanie Stallings, Treasurer
Melanie Stallings was born and raised in the southern suburbs of Chicago and attended the University of Notre Dame where she graduated with honors with a degree in Accounting. She began her career in the Indianapolis offices or Ernst and Young, LLP where she spent three years before taking a position as a financial analyst for GTE North.
After the birth of her children, Ms. Stallings worked for four years in the Zionsville Community School system as an instructional assistant. She is currently in her fourth year as the controller for Miller Brooks, Inc., an advertising, branding, and PR agency located in Zionsville.
Melanie and her family have lived in Zionsville since 1988. She has three children. Ms. Stallings served as President of the Eagle Elementary PTO for two years, President of ZCHS PTO for two years, Treasurer of the ZMS PTO for four years, and Vice-President of the Zionsville Athletic Booster Club. She has served on the ZCS Superintendent's Roundtable and was a member of the first redistricting committee for Zionsville Community Schools. Melanie also volunteers for the Culver Community Youth Council in Culver, Indiana and coaches youth volleyball.
Beth Kocher obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the University of North Dakota. From 1991 to 2000, Beth worked on an inpatient rehabilitation hospital specializing in spinal cord injury, stroke, and head injury. She served as a clinical coordinator for Physical Therapy students and guest lectured at the University of South Dakota Physical Therapy School. Beth is currently a full time mother of three very active boys. She is married to Ken and have lived in Zionsville since 2000.
Beth has volunteered for Meals on Wheels annual charity event and Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance annual walk. She has served on the ZEF grants committee, the Gold Star Counseling Committee, and is an active volunteer in the Zionsville Schools.
Brad Booze is an Indiana native having grown up in Bloomington. He received his BA in Computer Science and MBA in Finance from Indiana University. Brad brings a diversity of knowledge and perspective to the board from his career experiences, which include information systems and business turnaround consulting, leading a corporate global strategic planning and product development function, and executive leadership roles with software companies in Colorado and Silicon Valley. Brad is currently in marketing with Eli Lilly & Company.
Brad served on the ZEF grants committee prior to joining ZEF as a board member. He has been a head or assistant coach in Zionsville’s Little League baseball organization for the past 4 years and has also coached youth basketball. Brad and his wife, Susan, moved to Zionsville in 2001. They have 3 children.
Peggy Edwards is a psychotherapist, working part time in private practice. She worked on the inpatient unit at St. Vincent Stress Center for 18 years. She received her B.S. degree in clinical psychology from Indiana State University followed by a Master's degree in Social Work from Indiana University. She has lived her life in Indiana with the exception of moving to Topeka, KS for a year when she was completing her post graduate work at the Menninger Clinic.
Peggy's husband, Eric Siemers, is a neurologist and works at Eli Lilly and Co. He is involved in phase 1 drug trials for CNS diseases. Her sons attend middle school in Zionsville and are both involved in travel soccer and recreational basketball.
Peggy has been on the Board of Directors for Zionsville Youth Soccer Association for four years. She has also been on the PTO board at Eagle Elementary.
Melinda Heim received a bachelors degree in microbiology from Miami University and a masters degree in biology with a thesis in immunology from Purdue University. Her professional experience has included microbiological research at the University of Cincinnati Medical School and research in immunology at both Indiana University Medical School and Eli Lilly and Company. She is a full time parent and volunteer with a passion for children and education. She has served on various civic organizations in the Indianapolis community, including the Children's Museum Guild, the Assistance League of Indiana, the Brebeuf Jesuit Bistro, and has chaired both the Zionsville Education Foundation Oktoberfest and In Style Luncheon events. Beyond serving on the ZEF board of directors currently, she is on an exhibit advisory board for the Children's Museum and is editor of the Zionsville Community High School Newsletter. She enjoys tennis, travel, and horses.
Melinda and her husband, Michael, moved to Zionsville in 2000 wth their two children.
Mike MacLean is a partner in the law firm of Baker & Daniels LLP, specializing in employee benefits and executive compensation matters. He graduated from Purdue University in 1987 with a B.S. degree in Accounting and received his J.D. from Indiana University in 1990.
Mike and his wife, Valerie, have been Zionsville residents since 2001. They have two children. Mike has had the privilege of working with a variety of educational, non-profit and community organizations in both his professional and personal life, including serving on the Board of Directors of the Indianapolis Public Schools Education Foundation since 2000.
Bob Spoonmore is a quality consultant for Eli Lilly and Company specializing in qualification for pharmaceutical based engineering and software systems. He has over 23 years of experience in application of information systems, control systems, and manufacturing equipment throughout multiple technology based industries. He is a native Hoosier who grew up in Loogootee Indiana.
Bob completed his BS in Electrical Engineering at the University of Notre Dame. In addition, he completed his masters in project management and is currently completing his doctoral degree from Capella University focusing on outsourcing information systems. Bob currently teaches classes as IUPUI on project management and consults with external groups on the topic.
Bob served on the ZEF grants committee prior to joining the ZEF board. He has also coached youth lacrosse in the community for the past seven years and currently heads the Zionsville 3rd and 4th grade lacrosse program. Bob and his wife Alison moved to Zionsville in 1993. The continuing adventures of their three sons enable them to enjoy different schools within the Zionsville system each year.
Anne Steinberg has been in the Indianapolis event business for over 15 years. Graduating from DePauw University with an economics degree, she moved to Indianapolis to work for a large regional bank. After spending six years in the banking industry, she decided to exit mainstream corporate life and introduced Details by Decker, an event and project management company. Four years later, after establishing herself locally as an independent event manager, she joined Gene Huddleson to create Detail + Design. Anne has worked on various corporate, sports related, not-for-profit, and hospitality events, with clients ranging from the Indy Racing League, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the 500 Festival, the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library Foundation, and a handful of private clients.
Anne and her husband, Len, have three daughters, with the oldest being five. They moved to Zionsville from the Meridian-Kessler area in 2004. In addition to her event business, she also spends time participating in volunteer activities including the Advisory Board of The Women's Fund of Central Indiana as the Strategic Planning chair and The Children's Museum Guild. Anne was first introduced to ZEF shortly after moving to Zionsville, and co-chaired Oktoberfest for a couple years.
Julie Tiller and her husband Rich own and operate Tiller Group, Inc. located in Zionsville, which operates three full service speakers bureaus: Healthcare Speakers Network, Agricultural Speakers Network and Professional Speakers Network. Over the past twenty years, their company has assisted meeting planner clients on over 5200 meetings throughout North America and Europe.
A native Hoosier, Julie graduated from Ball State University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Education and Dance. After teaching high school at Columbus North, Julie joined the Indiana University Foundation as a major gift fundraiser. During her ten years with the IU Foundation, Julie worked on the Campaign for Indiana, co-directed the Herman B. Wells Young Scholar Campaign and directed the Riley Children's Hospital portion of the Indiana University School of Medicine Capital Campaign. At the conclusion of the IU School of Medicine Campaign, Julie became a consultant for the James Whitcomb Riley Memorial Association.
In 1995 Julie joined her husband Rich in the lecture and speakers bureau business. Julie enjoys a variety of roles in her children's schools and activities. The Tillers have been Zionsville residents for over 16 years and have two children.
Debbie Ungar holds a BA in Journalism from Indiana University. Her professional background is in non-profit marketing and fundraising. Debbie has worked for the American Cancer Society, State of Indiana and the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. Although she is currently a stay at home mom to two boys, she is active both in the school system and with other non-profit organizations, including the Junior League of Indianapolis and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Debbie and her husband, Ken, have been Zionsville residents since 2001. Ken is the owner of Ungar Strategies and author of the book "Ahead of the Game: What Every Athlete Needs to Know about Sports Business."
Debbie served as the President of the Eagle Elementary PTO in 2006-2007 and has also held the position of Fundraising VP for three years. She has also served for three years on the ZEF "InStyle" committee. Debbie operates a home-based photography business and also stays active with other crafty endeavors.
- Leslie Sherman, Past President
Leslie Sherman is a registered nurse. She was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland where she began her career as an operating room nurse at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She worked there until 1985 when she moved to Los Angeles, California. Mrs. Sherman worked at the UCLA Medical Center as a clinical organ transplant coordinator with the UCLA Liver Transplant Program. She also worked with the marketing department of the Regional Organ Procurement Agency in Los Angeles. Mrs. Sherman served as a hospital marketing consultant with the Nevada Donor Network in Las Vegas, Nevada and the Indiana Organ Procurement Organization in Indianapolis, Indiana between 1989-1995.
Leslie and her husband, Dr. Stuart Sherman, moved to Zionsville in 1991. The Shermans have two sons. Now a full time mother and volunteer, Mrs. Sherman served on the Eagle PTO Board and was the 2001-2002 PTO President. She has served on the ZCS Key Communicators Roundtable Committee and is the coach of the 2005 State Champion Zionsville Girl's High School lacrosse team and 2009 Girls Lacrosse Coach of the Year.
