ZEF Bash – Event Night Info

ZEF Bash 2020
Know Before You Go…or Stay!

We are excited for a fun night of virtual trivia with you! This page will give you everything you need to know to play trivia and enjoy our event extras throughout the night.

Thank you forming or joining a team in support of our teachers, students, and schools. Your participation tonight is integral to ZEF’s ability to continue funding teachers’ innovative ideas and immediate needs during these unprecedented times.

In the ever-changing world of Covid, we realize some teams may not want to gather in person right now. No problem! The beauty of this event is that it can literally be played from anywhere! You can use Zoom, Google Hangouts, Microsoft Teams, Skype, FaceTime, or the phone to play as a team. Check out our collaboration and audio tips below to make it as easy as possible.  If you do gather in person, please be safe!

How to Attend and Play

Getting to the event is easy! Hambone’s Trivia will host a Private YouTube Live feed for ZEF Bash. Registered teams should have received a link to the private YouTube Live feed. If you didn’t receive the link, please contact us at zef@zcs.k12.in.us.

If you still need to register for the event to play trivia, click HERE.

You can test the YouTube link at any time from your devices, but know the video won’t be live until just before the event. On Saturday, we recommend logging on by 6:30pm to make sure everything is working on your device and your team is ready to go!

Team Captains – You will be submitting answers for your team. On your second device, you will want to go to the YouTube Live link as well. Then, click on the link “Team Captains” to register your team – this is where you will put your team name (be creative and have fun!) and how you will access your answer sheet. Note: please do not close out your answer sheet as the event is linked together. If you do accidentally close it out, no worries, just let Hambone’s Trivia know by posting in the chat.

Team Members – if you would also like to view the questions asked, you can go to the YouTube Live link on a second device. Then, click on the link “View Only” to see the questions.

Team Collaboration – Hambone’s Trivia is different because of the great conversation and debate it creates. If your team isn’t together in the same place, you can use Zoom, Google Hangouts, Microsoft Teams, Skype, FaceTime, or the phone to discuss the questions.

Audio Tips – If everyone on your team is together, make sure you only have the audio coming from one device. If your team is collaborating virtually, you’ll need to make sure that only the Team Captain has their audio from the show turned up. That audio will go through to the Zoom, Hangout, etc.

Problem Solving – Most trivia issues/questions can be solved through the Chat on the YouTube event. Please note: you will need to be logged into a gmail account to participate in the chat.  ZEF staff will also be available that evening to help with other questions.  You can reach Julie at 317.979.1737 or Lyle at 317.403.6681.

Last but not least – Have fun (and don’t cheat – that’s no fun for anyone!) Send us photos of your team at zef@zcs.k12.in.us. Have a great evening and we appreciate you joining us for ZEF Bash 2020!

Cap off the Night

Each year, we set aside time at our fall fundraiser to Cap off the Night. We reveal our exclusive Zionsville Eagles hat as our gift to those that donate $50 or more to ZEF. The hat is not only an Eagles fan favorite but a symbol to the community that you support ZEF and our schools. Your donations enable educators to dream big for their students by bringing their creative ideas to life through ZEF grants. Donate through Qtego and click the “Donate” button. What will this year’s hat look like? Tune in between trivia rounds 2 and 3 to find out!

ZEF Bash Program

Our official ZEF Bash program is a great way to make sure you don’t miss any of the fun and to learn more about ZEF. Click here to view the program!

To date in 2020, ZEF has awarded more than $125,000 in grants to ZCS teachers, students, and schools. Grants for immediate needs in this unprecedented time, traditional classroom grants, strategic initiatives, and professional development opportunities for teachers combine to support and further educational excellence in our schools.

YOU make all that possible! Your support, your donations, and your bids enable ZEF to fund the innovative and creative ideas of our teachers, staff, administrators, and students. THANK YOU!
