ZEF Awards Over $25k in Fall 2025 Classroom Grants |
|
|
ZEF has awarded $25,910.29 in classroom grants to educators at Zionsville Community Schools this Fall, providing funding for 10 innovative projects that will enrich academic experiences for students across the district. We would like to thank the Duke Energy Foundation and the Community Foundation of Boone County for their steadfast support of ZEF and, specifically, this grant cycle.
From forensic science labs and literacy enrichment to robotics, makerspaces, and student-run businesses, the Fall 2025 grants support ZCS teachers in bringing creative, hands-on learning to life. These grants are made possible through generous contributions from local donors and the broader Zionsville community, particularly as we celebrate our 30th anniversary and $2 million milestone in grants funded. At the beginning of the school year, ZEF offered a chance for educators and ZCS employees to win $150 for participating in our annual back to school payroll deduction drive. Two names were drawn from the participants, and we would like to congratulate this year's winners: Carly Havlik with ZCS Technology (left), and Kimberly Wagoner from Stonegate Elementary (right). We also had our drawing for an educator to win a ZEF Day, where a ZEF Staff Member will be a ‘sub’ for a day and will give that winner an opportunity to use the time for professional development. The ZEF Day winner was Kara Benson at Zionsville West Middle School (middle photo, below).

Cava, a fast-casual Mediterranean restaurant that recently opened in Zionsville, invited ZEF to be the benefitting non-profit for their soft opening Community Day in October. Providing all donations from the day directly to ZEF, with Cava matching up to $1000, it was a great opportunity to welcome a new local business and to share the ZEF story with our community.
ZEF participated in this year’s Trick or Trees event, hosted by the Zionsville Parks Department, which welcomed hundreds of Zionsville families at Elm Street Green. This was a great opportunity for ZEF to educate parents of young children about our role in funding innovative classroom projects across the district ... all while enjoying roasting marshmallows! |

ZEF at 2025 State of the Schools |
On October 7th, we were a proud supporting partner, along with the Zionsville Chamber of Commerce, of the ZCS “State of the Schools” event. ZEF Executive Director, Catherine Moser, introduced Superintendent Dr. Rebecca Coffman, who reflected on student success, district growth, and ZCS’s continued focus on teaching, learning, and community collaboration. |
